Oscar: trionfano i Coen tra le candidature

Saranno quattro le possibilità per l’Italia di aggiudicarsi un Oscar 2008. Archiviata la delusione per la mancata nomination de La Sconosciuta di Giuseppe Tornatore, i portabandiera del tricolore nazionale saranno due musicisti, Dario Marianelli autore della colonna sonora di Espiazione, già premiato con il Golden Globe e Marco Beltrami, ormai americanizzato, per il film Quel treno per Yuma. Soddisfazione per Andrea Jublin, nominato per il cortometraggio Il Supplente prodotto da Sky Cinema Italia. In gara per la migliore scenografia ci saranno Dante Ferretti e Francesca Lo Schiavo per il loro lavoro in Sweeney Todd di Tim Burton. Ben 8 nomination per l’ultimo lavoro dei fratelli Coen, Non è un paese per vecchi, che concorre fra gli altri come miglior film, regia, sceneggiatura, fotografia e montaggio. Sorprendono positivamente le 4 nomination per Juno di Jason Reitman, già vincitore della Festa del Cinema di Roma (miglior film, regia, sceneggiatura originale e miglior attrice). L’impegno di George Clooney è stato invece ricompensato con 6 nomination, nonostante il suo Michael Clayton non abbia impressionato la giuria all’ultima Mostra del Cinema di Venezia.

Espiazione conferma le 7 nomination ricevute anche ai Golden Globe. Infine 4 nomination per Lo scafandro e la farfalla, passato con successo all’ultimo Festival di Cannes e Il petroliere di Paul Thomas Anderson.
La premiazione, ammesso che lo sciopero degli sceneggiatori non riesca a bloccarla come accaduto per i Golden Globe, si terrà come tradizione al Kodak Theater di Hollywood, nella notte di domenica 24 febbraio.
